Dieses Foto ist für mich ein absolutes Highlight ! Es ist schon ein Traum, diesen Vogel bei uns in Osterreich zu sehen. Wir konnten ein Futter tragendes Paar beobachten. Das ist erst der zweite Brutnachweis in Österreich. Leider wurde das Nest durch den steigenden Pegelstand des Rheines zerstört. Jetzt hoffen wir sehr auf eine zweite Brut !

This photo is an absolute highlight for me! It's been a dream to see this bird here in Austria. We were able to observe a food-bearing pair. This is only the second breeding record in Austria. Unfortunately, the nest was destroyed by the rising water level of the Rhine. Now we very much hope to a second brood!

This species breeds in north central Asia in wet meadows and tundra. It migrates in winter to south Asia, often to highland areas. Its range is expanding westwards, and it is a rare but increasing vagrant to western Europe. Vagrants seem to extend the migration rather than straying en route; in Bhutan for example, though along one of the species' migration flyways, the citrine wagtail has been recorded as an extremely rare passer-
