Capercaillies - Male Tetrao urogallus

Today is - for me - a wonderful appendage! I had the luck to observe this splendid and big bird and to take photos. Capercaillies are at the moment are climax of their courtship display. Only in this time exists die the biggest possibility to take a photo of them. My husband has borrowed to me his old camera. With the telescope was there of course no chance because he was too close.

This is a very, very, very special shot! To see a Capercailie is one very rare event. To see it in it's "lech"(The courtship ground), displaying is a once in a lifetime experience! You should be very proud of this fantastic achievement! Go and have a celebratory drink(Maybe "Old Grouse" Whisky-which has this as a label!) tonight!
